- Ethereum approaches its 10th anniversary, highlighting its revolution in decentralized applications and smart contracts.
- Tim Beiko proposes Nobel-level recognition for Ethereum, reflecting its significant impact on blockchain technology.
The Ethereum network, officially launched in 2015 with the creation of its “genesis block”, has grown exponentially, becoming the most popular blockchain platform for decentralized application development. This growth reflects not only Ethereum’s success but also the potential of blockchain technology to transform diverse sectors beyond finance.
Imagine Ethereum as a gifted student in the world of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. Since it started in 2014, it has been working on really impressive projects, such as enabling people to make smart contracts and creating applications that don’t rely on a single server or person to run.
To launch, Ethereum sold what you might call “tickets” for its project, called ETH, at a very low price, and raised a lot of money to get its idea off the ground.
However, even though they sold these tickets, they couldn’t show their project to the world until a year later, in 2015, when it was finally all ready to go. This moment was like their grand opening, their “premiere” so to speak.
As ETHNews previously noted, Ethereum’s trajectory from its ICO to becoming a leading platform in the decentralized applications space is a testament to the power of innovation and long-term vision.
Free idea: a few years ago, someone told me they'd like to see a Nobel Prize equivalent for Ethereum, but it hasn't happened yet.
The chain will turn 10 years old in ~18 months, which seems like great timing for this! It gives enough time to make it happen properly, too 😄

Now, almost 10 years after that big debut, one of the main brains behind Ethereum, Tim Beiko, thinks it would be great if Ethereum received a super prestigious award, something like the Nobel Prize, to recognize all the hard work and innovations they have brought to the world of cryptocurrencies and technology.
He believes that, with the 10th anniversary approaching, it would be the perfect time for this to happen, and mentions that there is even enough time to get it all organized right.
Very much in support of this, but I think it's a different class of awards. Nobel-equse prize should focus narrowly on magnitude of impact.

When he shared this idea on the internet, people started talking about what kind of award would be appropriate, and someone suggested something that would be as cool and meaningful as the Oscar awards for movies. Beiko also started thinking about how many people should be recognized for this achievement, suggesting that it should be a small team of between five and ten people.
Following reports from ETHNews, this proposal has generated constructive dialogue within the community about how to properly celebrate Ethereum’s achievements and recognize those who have been at the forefront of this paradigm shift.
So, basically, Ethereum is like a movie star in the tech world, and its behind-the-scenes team is looking forward to receiving a big round of applause for their incredible work.
The current price of Ethereum (ETH) is approximately $3448.2 USD, with a positive change of 0.36% in the last few hours . Over the last week, Ethereum has seen a significant increase of 18.02%, and over the last month, it has risen an impressive 51.39%.
