On June 28, 2023, the AWS Partner Summit in Shanghai marked an important milestone in Amazon Web Services’ ongoing mission to amplify the value and impact of its partners worldwide. The summit was a grand unveil of the company’s latest initiatives, all of which are geared towards providing targeted support to its diverse partners.

The event, themed “Shared Vision, Achieving Value,” spotlighted several new strategies like the “AWS Smart Global Expansion Plan,” “AWS Sustainable Development Partner Program,” Partner Solutions Factory, and the Customer Acquisition Incentive Program. These initiatives are designed to empower partners at every stage of their development journey, enhancing their inventive potential, sector-specific abilities, and customer acquisition expertise in the cloud. In essence, the focus is on fostering more value creation.

Ni Dianling, General Manager of AWS Greater China Innovation Growth Business and Partner Ecosystem, expounded on the AWS strategy in China. He emphasized the continued commitment to the ‘3+3 Strategy’ launched in 2022. This comprehensive approach includes three main thrusts—core capability building, deep industry empowerment, and full coverage—bolstered by three cornerstones: technical support, collaborative sales, and talent development. The idea is to invigorate partner growth, nurture collaboration, and enable scalable development, making the success of partners a shared victory.

One remarkable strategy launched at the summit is the “Amazon Cloud Technology Wisdom Sea-going Program.” This initiative is geared towards assisting manufacturing enterprises in their global expansion using cross-border e-commerce channels. The program will leverage AWS’s alliances with over 30 partners, providing holistic solutions to various industrial and commercial enterprises, Original Design Manufacturers/Original Equipment Manufacturers (ODM/OEM), and branded enterprises for swift establishment of cross-border e-commerce channels.

AWS also launched the “AWS Sustainable Development Partner Program,” collaborating with partners for all-encompassing coverage in six key fields related to sustainability. Moreover, two additional plans—the Partner Solution Factory and the Customer Acquisition Incentive Program—were rolled out to spur partners’ collaborative sales endeavors.

Furthermore, AWS remains committed to three strategic initiatives: Core capability building for partners, deep industry empowerment, and full-domain coverage. For 2023, AWS plans to aid partners in building core capabilities in machine learning, AI, data analysis, and Managed Service Provider (MSP), alongside fostering differentiation in industry certification, security compliance, and business strategy consulting.

At the end of the event, AWS celebrated the achievements of five partners with the 2022 annual series of awards for their exceptional contributions to digital transformation.
