On-chain tracking platform Lookonchain has reported a significant cryptocurrency movement by the U.S. Government, which transferred a substantial amount of Bitcoin (BTC) to a new, previously inactive wallet address.
According to the data, a total of 667.6 BTC, valued at approximately $74.79 million, was moved from a wallet labeled “U.S. Government: Potapenko” to an undisclosed destination.
The transaction details captured by blockchain explorers indicate that the main outflow of 667.623 BTC occurred just minutes prior to the public report.

A smaller, likely test transaction of 0.001 BTC was also executed from the same government-linked wallet shortly before the major transfer, a common operational practice to confirm the correct address and functionality before a large movement of funds.
Movements of this nature often attract close scrutiny from the cryptocurrency community, as they typically involve Bitcoin seized by various federal agencies, such as those recovered from criminal enterprises or illicit activities. Such transfers can sometimes precede a government auction or sale of the seized digital assets.
