- Elon Musk has launched the “America Party,” pledging to embrace Bitcoin and challenge the U.S. two-party system, prompting a fierce response from Donald Trump.
- Musk plans to target key congressional seats, criticizing Trump’s spending bill and positioning his party as a voice for fiscal responsibility and crypto innovation.
The political clash between tech mogul Elon Musk and U.S. President Donald Trump has reached new heights following Musk’s confirmation that he is launching a new political movement, the “America Party.”. This time, with Bitcoin as its financial foundation.

Trump wasted no time responding, calling Musk a “train wreck” and warning that the move could splinter the Republican vote ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
Posting on his Truth Social platform, Trump declared, “I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely ‘off the rails.’” He slammed Musk’s third-party ambitions, saying such efforts have historically failed in the U.S. political system.
The announcement came just hours after Musk revealed on X that he had officially formed the America Party. He had previously threatened to do so if Congress passed Trump’s controversial “One Big Beautiful Bill”, which it did last week.
Musk has criticized the bill as a “disgusting abomination”, claiming it adds $3.3 trillion to the national debt, completely undermining the government efficiency efforts he led under the short-lived DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency).
Musk also confirmed that the America Party would embrace Bitcoin, declaring fiat “hopeless” in response to a question about crypto integration. Musk’s connection with crypto is well established, Tesla still holds over 11,500 BTC, worth more than $1.26 billion, making it one of the largest publicly traded holders of Bitcoin.
His influence in the crypto space has previously caused massive price fluctuations in both Bitcoin and Dogecoin.
The new party is not just symbolic. Musk has signaled his intent to target 2 to 3 key Senate seats and 8 to 10 House districts, potentially swinging control of Congress if margins remain tight. His goal is to become a decisive voice in policymaking, one that “ensures laws serve the true will of the people.”

However, Trump loyalists are growing concerned. Some fear Musk’s party could peel off Republican voters, handing control of key seats to Democrats. Influencer Laura Loomer warned that even high-profile Republicans like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Thomas Massie might defect to Musk’s party.
The Musk-Trump feud, once rooted in mutual admiration, has now erupted into full-scale political warfare. Musk has repeatedly accused Trump of hypocrisy and fiscal recklessness, questioning how a president who created a department to cut spending could approve a bill that massively increases debt.
Backed by tech wealth, crypto ambition, and growing public support—over 1.2 million people voted in favor of forming the party in a recent poll—Musk’s America Party may be a long shot, but it’s already reshaping the 2026 political landscape.
