Tether’s dollar-pegged stablecoin, USDT, has officially surpassed 500 million users worldwide, according to CEO Paolo Ardoino, who called it “the biggest financial inclusion achievement in history.”
In a post shared on X, Ardoino highlighted that the milestone represents more than just a number, it signifies half a billion real people using digital dollars for everyday transactions, savings, and cross-border payments.

To commemorate the achievement, Tether released a short documentary from Kenya, showcasing how USDT is helping individuals and small businesses gain access to financial stability, especially in regions underserved by traditional banking.
Tether emphasized that USDT’s mission goes beyond market dominance, the stablecoin now plays a crucial role in enabling economic freedom, inflation protection, and borderless transactions across emerging economies.
The achievement underscores how stablecoins are transforming global finance, providing a lifeline to users in countries facing unstable currencies or limited access to the global banking system.
With over $110 billion in circulation, USDT remains the world’s largest stablecoin, cementing Tether’s position as a driving force behind the digital dollar revolution.
