Strong Signals for Third Major Altseason: Analysts Say “Biggest One Yet” May Be Imminent

A technical pattern that historically marked the start of every major altcoin rally has just reappeared, according to a new chart analysis from @cryptosymbioite. The same signal, a bullish MACD crossover on the Altcoin Market Cap vs. Bitcoin chart, previously triggered explosive altseasons in both 2018 and 2021.

The Signal Returns

The pattern has now formed for the third time in eight years, signaling what analysts describe as a potential “super altseason.” Each of the past two crossovers preceded sharp altcoin outperformance, with Ethereum, XRP, and other top assets rallying hundreds of percent against Bitcoin.

The current chart shows the OTHERS/BTC pair (a measure of altcoin dominance relative to Bitcoin) bouncing from a long-term support zone, accompanied by a fresh bullish MACD cross, the same structure that ignited the 2021 surge.

Macro Conditions Align

This signal arrives amid rapidly shifting macroeconomic conditions. The Federal Reserve’s latest 25-basis-point rate cut, combined with the end of quantitative tightening (QT), is injecting new liquidity into risk markets. Historically, these conditions have favored high-beta assets like altcoins.

Analysts note that the previous altseasons in 2018 and 2021 both followed periods of easing monetary policy, where declining dollar strength encouraged capital rotation from Bitcoin into smaller-cap cryptocurrencies.

“Biggest Altseason Ever” Prediction

With both technical and macro factors aligning, traders are increasingly expecting altcoin dominance to surge. The chart projection places the next peak around 2025, matching the cyclical pattern of roughly four-year intervals between major altseasons.

If this trajectory holds, it could mark the largest altseason on record, with liquidity flowing into sectors like AI tokens, Layer-1 networks, and emerging meme coins that have already shown early momentum in October.

As history suggests, when Bitcoin stabilizes and liquidity expands, altcoins tend to outperform dramatically, and this time, the setup looks almost identical to the rallies that defined the previous two crypto cycles.
