Despite a steep drawdown, BitMine Immersion Technologies Inc. has emerged as one of the most aggressively accumulated overseas stocks by South Korean investors in 2025.
According to data cited by Bloomberg and visualized in the chart, BitMine ranks second among all overseas securities purchased by Korean investors this year, trailing only Alphabet Inc.. Net purchases of BitMine shares reached $1.4 billion, placing it ahead of major U.S. equity benchmarks and blue-chip technology names.

Heavy Buying Despite Severe Price Declines
The buying surge comes even as BitMine’s stock has suffered a dramatic sell-off. Shares are down roughly 80% from their July peak, yet Korean retail investors continued to increase exposure rather than step aside.
The data also highlights that exposure did not stop at spot equity purchases. Investors further amplified their positioning through a 2× leveraged ETF launched by T-Rex, despite that product itself falling approximately 86% from its September high. The persistence of inflows suggests a high-risk, high-conviction approach rather than passive diversification.

How BitMine Compares to Other Overseas Favorites
The chart shows BitMine firmly embedded among mainstream global investment vehicles. Only Alphabet saw higher net purchases at around $2.0 billion, while BitMine outpaced:
- Vanguard S&P 500 ETF
- Invesco NASDAQ 100 ETF
- Nvidia
- Multiple fixed-income and index-tracking ETFs
This positioning underscores how strongly Korean retail investors gravitated toward Bitcoin-linked equity exposure, even as volatility intensified.
A Clear Signal of Risk Appetite
The ranking illustrates a striking divergence between price performance and investor behavior. Rather than retreating after large losses, South Korean investors continued allocating capital into BitMine at scale, treating the drawdown as an opportunity rather than a warning.
With BitMine standing shoulder to shoulder with global tech giants and broad-market ETFs in net inflows, the data highlights how speculative conviction, particularly around crypto-adjacent equities, remained resilient among Korean retail investors throughout 2025, regardless of sharp declines in market value.
