The Shibarium Countdown: KuCoin’s Enthusiasm & Shiba Inu Community’s Expectations

Shiba Inu, a cryptocurrency that once began as a meme, has evolved into a titan in the crypto landscape, gaining unwavering attention from investors and crucially, exchange platforms. KuCoin, one of the prominent players in the crypto exchange arena, has been vociferously supporting SHIB and its much-anticipated layer-2 network, Shibarium. A recent proclamation from KuCoin delineated its eager anticipation for the forthcoming Shibarium mainnet launch.

Given that the announcement came last Sunday, the crypto world is poised to witness the Shibarium release anytime this week. Strengthening this claim is Shytoshi Kusama, the chief developer of the ecosystem, who hinted at the unveiling of Shibarium during the Blockchain Futurist Conference in Toronto, scheduled for August 15-16.

Beyond mere announcements, KuCoin has ignited curiosity within its user base, asking for price speculations post Shibarium’s mainnet debut. Additionally, the exchange has been proactive in positioning itself as the preferred platform for trading SHIB.

Community’s Call to List BONE and LEASH

KuCoin’s Shibarium-centered announcement garnered responses from the enthusiastic Shiba Inu community, colloquially known as the ShibArmy. Several members articulated their desire for KuCoin to list Bone ShibaSwap (BONE) and Doge Killer (LEASH). This demand stems from an understanding that with Shibarium’s launch, BONE’s role in the ecosystem, especially as a medium for gas fees, will amplify.

An anonymous user delineated that every SHIB aficionado would necessitate BONE to facilitate transactions on Shibarium, likening BONE’s potential role to Ethereum (ETH) within its blockchain. A notable suggestion from a community member named Ringoshi Tōitsu posited that KuCoin liaise with the Unification project team when considering a BONE listing.

While the exchange has maintained silence on these unofficial pleas, optimism courses through the community, especially given recent developments concerning BONE renunciation contracts.

Kusama, the key figure in Shiba Inu’s development, disclosed plans to renounce token ownership once the remaining 20 million BONE are minted. This move has sparked speculation that major exchanges, potentially including Binance, might soon list the asset.
