- Cyfrin-audited Lockbox underpins security; dashboard enables balance verification, claims, and staged testing before transferring larger positions by participants.
- IOU markets trade near $0.56–$0.57, above contract price, implying liquidity premium and potential two-sided post-unlock flows amid volatility.
Continuing with WLFI reports on ETHNews, Trump-backed World Liberty Financial (WLFI) enters a key liquidity event on September 1 as its token unlock begins. On-chain data show 1.627 billion WLFI—about 16.27% of total supply—parked in the project’s Lockbox contract. At the reference price of $0.297, that equals roughly $483 million held under program rules.
At 8:00 a.m. ET on September 1, 20% of presale and other eligible allocations become claimable. The remaining 80% stays locked and will release only if future governance votes approve a schedule.
Therefore, near-term circulating supply depends less on cliff math and more on how holders vote. WLFI opened Lockbox activation from August 25 to 31 and published a dashboard so users can verify balances and claims.
Security sits at the center of the process
The Lockbox contract passed a Cyfrin audit, and the team states that funds and mechanics align with the published specification. Meanwhile, price discovery has already started in over-the-counter IOUs: WLFI IOUs changed hands near $0.56 – $0.57, well above the contract reference, implying a premium driven by expected exchange liquidity and early access.
A partial unlock can create two-sided flow as early participants realize gains while new buyers step in. Order books will absorb supply more easily if trading venues and market makers quote tight spreads and consistent depth. However, if sell pressure concentrates in a short window, slippage can widen until demand adjusts.
For holders, the checklist is basic. Confirm venue support for deposits and withdrawals, review any listing times, and stage test transactions before moving size. Keep proofs of claim and observe gas conditions to avoid failed submissions. In addition, follow governance forums that will propose the vesting cadence for the remaining 80%.
The unlock does not settle WLFI’s fair value; it sets the opening scene. From here, pricing will track execution: governance discipline, transparent reporting, and steady secondary-market liquidity.
