    • Nike, a key player in Web3, has announced a collaboration with EA Sports to bring its Polygon-based .Swoosh NFTs to upcoming video games.
    • The partnership aims to build new immersive gaming experiences, emphasizing customization with Nike’s digital collectibles like virtual sneakers and membership cards.

Nike, the world-renowned sportswear giant and Web3 force, recently revealed an exciting collaboration with prominent video game developer, EA Sports. The partnership intends to incorporate digital collectibles from Nike’s .Swoosh platform into future EA Sports games.

The .Swoosh platform, announced last year and still in closed beta, is built on Polygon, an Ethereum scaling network, and currently features NFT collectibles, including digital sneakers and membership cards. Although the term “NFTs” hasn’t been explicitly used, the direction the platform is taking seems to align with it.

The scope of the Nike virtual creations extends beyond digital sneakers. According to the .Swoosh website, these creations include digital apparel, accessories, and various other collectibles that can be redeemed for exclusive products, events, and more.

The specifics of this collaboration remain under wraps. However, both Nike and EA Sports have committed to unveiling more about this exciting partnership in the coming months.

EA Sports, a division of Electronic Arts, has been providing gamers with some of the most popular sports franchises, including Madden NFL, FIFA, NHL, and NASCAR since 1991.

Despite still being in closed beta, the .Swoosh platform already achieved substantial success last month, selling over 92,000 NFTs with its first NFT collection launch. Nike’s foray into the NFT realm has been immensely profitable, generating over $186 million in total revenue since December 2021, largely due to the success of collaborations such as RTFKT, the Web3 startup it acquired.
