Shibarium’s Arrival: What to Expect
Shiba Inu’s Layer-2 network, Shibarium, has been making waves in the crypto community, not just among individual investors but also large-scale exchanges. Notably, KuCoin, one of the premier crypto exchanges, has publicized its staunch support for SHIB and the soon-to-be-launched Shibarium.

KuCoin recently utilized platform ‘X’ to inform the SHIB community of Shibarium’s forthcoming mainnet debut. This layer-2 scaling solution, which enhances the performance and scalability of blockchain networks, was announced to be going live “next week.” Given that this statement was issued last Sunday, the anticipated rollout is pegged for the ongoing week.
It’s worth noting that Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer overseeing the Shiba Inu ecosystem, has persistently alluded to Shibarium’s unveiling at the Blockchain Futurist Conference in Toronto, scheduled for August 15 and 16.
KuCoin, echoing the buzz, has also prompted its user base to deliberate on the potential price trajectory for SHIB once Shibarium makes its grand entry. Additionally, the exchange has positioned itself as the ideal platform for trading SHIB, capitalizing on this momentum.
Community Plea: Listings on the Horizon?
In reaction to KuCoin’s announcements, there’s been a vocal request from the ShibArmy – a collective term for Shiba Inu’s passionate supporters – urging the listing of Bone ShibaSwap (BONE) and Doge Killer (LEASH) on the platform. This push stems from the belief that Shibarium’s launch will amplify the demand for the ShibaSwap governance token, primarily as Shibarium plans to deploy BONE as its primary gas fee. This essentially means that for transactions on Shibarium, SHIB holders would need BONE.
An investor even projected BONE’s potential, suggesting it might mirror Ethereum’s (ETH) success, courtesy of its integration within Shibarium. While there were suggestions for KuCoin to liaise with the Unification project’s team for a BONE listing, the exchange remains tight-lipped, having not responded officially to these public calls.
On a related note, Kusama shared that the Shiba Inu team aims to release control of the token once the remaining 20 million BONE are minted. Such a strategic move is anticipated to incentivize other major exchanges, possibly even Binance, to consider listing the asset.
