International Blockchain Week and DEVCON2 Details Announced
Details on the highly anticipated International Blockchain Week have been announced. From September 19th- 24th in Shanghai, developers, investors, and enthusiasts of Ethereum and blockchain technology will have the chance to attend these very unique events.
As announced in April, Ethereum’s DEVCON2 and Winxiang Blockchain Labs’ Global Blockchain Summit are combining forces by giving those a chance to attend both events at the same location. These events will also be separated by a Demo Day presented by Wanxiang Blockchain Labs.
During the first three days, from September 19th-21st, DEVCON2 will allow attendees the chance to discover more on Ethereum’s research, development and security, as well as DApps. Guests will also be treated with a special presentation from the event’s Premiere Sponsor, Microsoft, which will highlight more details on their Ethereum-based project, Azure.
On Demo Day, September 22nd, investors and innovators will have a day of presentations to watch with 15 blockchain startups and companies showcasing their products and current development.
The Global Blockchain Summit will take over after, from September 23rd -24th, with presentations about new trends of blockchain technology in China. During those two days, panels will discuss introducing blockchain technology within the Asian markets, innovations within healthcare and insurance, and the blockchain’s role in the future of banking.
About thirty presenters have been confirmed to speak throughout this dynamic week. The impressive list of speakers include:
- Ethereum’s Founder, Vitalik Buterin
- EthCore’s Founder, Gavin Wood
- ConsenSys’ Founder, Joseph Lubin
- Chief Digital Officer at the Toronto Exchange and Founder of Jaxx, Anthony Di Iorio
- And speakers from Stellar, Circle, ItBit, and Factom
If this is an attendee’s first time in Shanghai, the Ethereum Foundation has organized sightseeing tours all around Shanghai and Asia, preceding the weeklong event. The early-bird special is available until July 31st at two separate costs. For those who wish to attend the events separately, the cost is $900 each, or for both events, $1500. After the special, the prices will raise to $1200 for each event, and $2000 for both.
