IBM (NYSE: IBM) has unveiled IBM Digital Asset Haven, a full-stack platform built for financial institutions, governments, and corporations to securely manage digital assets across more than 40 public and private blockchains.

The new solution marks IBM’s most ambitious step yet into institutional blockchain infrastructure, integrating custody, compliance, and settlement in a single enterprise-grade environment.

Developed in partnership with Dfns, a digital wallet infrastructure leader, the platform combines IBM’s enterprise security with Dfns’s custody and key management technology. Dfns currently supports over 250 clients and 15 million wallets, a foundation that strengthens IBM’s ability to deliver both performance and regulatory compliance at scale.

A New Standard for Institutional Blockchain Management

IBM Digital Asset Haven offers end-to-end transaction lifecycle management, automating and monitoring blockchain processes from routing to settlement. Its governance and entitlement framework includes programmable multi-party approvals and policy enforcement tools to meet financial industry standards.

The platform also provides pre-integrated KYC, AML, and yield-generation tools, along with open REST APIs and SDKs for developers to expand functionality. With built-in Multi-Party Computation (MPC) and Hardware Security Module (HSM) signing, powered by IBM Crypto Express 8S, the system ensures secure key management and compliance with rising regulatory demands for cold storage operations.

IBM emphasized that the new platform is also designed to be quantum-safe, preparing institutions for the next generation of cryptographic resilience.

Tom McPherson, General Manager of IBM Z and LinuxONE, said the initiative enables clients “to enter and expand into the digital asset space backed by IBM’s level of security and reliability.”

Dfns CEO Clarisse Hagège added, “Together with IBM, we’ve built a platform that orchestrates the full digital asset ecosystem, paving the way for digital assets to move from pilot programs to production at a global scale.”

With IBM Digital Asset Haven, the tech giant is positioning itself at the forefront of institutional digital finance, bridging traditional systems and the emerging blockchain economy with the same rigor that defines global banking infrastructure.
