Freewallet is available on Google Play and the Apple App Store, and users can sign in with an email, Google Plus or Facebook account. The simple user interface (UI) allows for the buying, receiving, and sending of cryptocurrencies through QR Codes and includes security safeguards in the event a device is lost or stolen. Users are also able to top off funds with additional altcoins such as Ethereum Classic (ETC), Litecoin, and Augur tokens, to their respective wallets, which includes a personal web address as well as an encrypted wallet address.

Freewallet began with the goal of simplifying cryptocurrency management for mainstream users. According to company research, 25% of Freewallet customers are new cryptocurrency users who want a simple way to buy coins directly.

“The partnership with Indacoin has helped us to realize the idea of in-app purchases with a few taps. We are still improving some parts of the service to make the process smoother. And we need your feedback to go in the right direction,” says Alvin Hagg, founder of Freewallet.

Many people see Freewallet’s latest innovation as a signal that the crypto world is becoming more mainstream. By providing non-developers with an easy-to-use and free-to-operate digital wallet, proponents of Freewallet believe the company is moving in the right direction for blockchain’s future. As more people adopt cryptocurrency technology, so might they also be inclined to try Dapps and other user-friendly applications built on the Ethereum blockchain.
