This coalition is fashioned to transform the EOS Network into a blueprint of climate-positive blockchain technology.
Embarking on a Climate-Positive Voyage
ENF, through this strategic alliance, seeks to graduate from being a carbon-neutral to a climate-positive blockchain network, thus establishing a new benchmark in the blockchain sphere. The underlying goal is to invigorate other networks to embrace climate-positive methodologies, carving the path towards a sustainable digital economy.
EOS Network is engineered to be a minimal power consumer whilst retaining robust scalability and throughput. It already ranks among the globe’s most eco-friendly blockchains with an annual carbon dioxide footprint of 242 tonnes, a feat the ENF has successfully offset since 2018.
Upland, an open web3 platform rendering a metaverse mapped to the real world, has been an instrumental player in the EOS Network’s sustainability narrative since 2021, acting as the network’s carbon offset sponsor. The platform has extrapolated its sustainability endeavors beyond blockchain infrastructure by also offsetting the carbon footprint of the cloud services empowering its metaverse.
