With the culmination of a year rich with Ethereum developments, the panorama of events in 2017 will expand even further than it did in 2016. EDCON (Ethereum European Development Conference) is an event that will cover Ethereum technology and research such as PoS (Proof of Stake), scalability, privacy, Dapps, and other Ethereum-based applications.
Held in Paris from February 17-18, 2017, at the École supérieure de commerce de Paris – Europe (ESCP), the event is organized by LinkTime, a startup that develops Ethereum applications. Further support and partnerships for this event are from developers within the Ethereum Foundation, as well as ADETEF (Association de développement Environnemental-vert et Technologie de l'information en France), the ESCP, the Asseth (a French Ethereum nonprofit), and La ChainTech (a French blockchain nonprofit).
Prominent speakers such as Ethereum co-founder, Vitalik Buterin, and Ethereum Software Engineer, Nick Johnson, have already joined the roster of speakers, and the EDCON website states there are more are to come. Different discussions about the following areas of the technology are as noted:
- Ethereum base-layer technology
- Ethereum research (PoS, scalability)
- Privacy (eg. zero knowledge proofs)
- Formal verification
- Ethereum consortium chain development
- Applications being built on Ethereum
- Growing the Ethereum community
Tickets for the event come in two forms: Standard and VIP Standard tickets cover the main conference, morning event, and Ethereum Community Subconference activities. There will only be 100 VIP tickets released and these cover the main conference, morning event, Ethereum Community Subconference activities, and the cocktail party that will be saturated with industry professionals, investors, and Ethereum core developers. Attendees are welcome to register as startups or investors looking to deepen their networking opportunities.
