The XRP Ledger (XRPL) has implemented a significant update to its Automated Market Maker (AMM) engine, officially named “fixAMMOverflowOffer.”
This update, released in version 2.1.1, was activated on the mainnet after achieving a 100% consensus during a stress test voting period. The update specifically addresses the issue of handling large synthetic AMM offers within the payment engine.
This adjustment is part of the ongoing developments within XRPL to keep pace with competing layer-1 blockchain networks. The initial rollout of the AMM feature marked a crucial stage in XRPL’s integration into the broader blockchain ecosystem.

However, it was shortly followed by a technical malfunction that prompted a series of corrective updates. The “fixAMMOverflowOffer” aims to improve how the XRPL manages swap requests on decentralized exchanges (DEXes) that utilize the ledger, potentially preventing similar problems in the future.
In addition to resolving issues within its AMM engine, the XRPL is also enhancing features that impact validators and other key users of the platform. For instance, the Clawback functionality was introduced to offer protection to developers and liquidity providers against potential thefts.
Looking ahead, XRPL plans to roll out further updates including “fixDisallowIncomingV1” and “fixNFTokenReserve,” which are yet to be implemented.

The current price of Ripple (XRP-USD) is approximately $0.545901, which represents a decrease of 10.23% as of the latest update.
