A widespread Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage disrupted access to multiple major platforms early Monday, including Coinbase, Reddit, Hulu, EA, Max, and Xbox Network, according to reports from Downdetector.
Coinbase Support acknowledged the issue on X, confirming that “many users are currently unable to access Coinbase due to an AWS outage.” The exchange assured customers that all funds remain safe and said engineers are working with AWS to restore normal functionality as soon as possible.
We're aware many users are currently unable to access Coinbase due to an AWS outage.

The disruption, which began mid-morning, caused login errors, API connection timeouts, and partial service failures across affected apps. AWS, which powers a large portion of the internet’s cloud infrastructure, has not yet issued an official explanation for the outage.
Analysts note that such incidents highlight the centralized risk of web infrastructure, even in industries like crypto that promote decentralization. Coinbase has frequently emphasized redundancy and data recovery systems, though short-term outages can still impact user confidence and trading activity.
As of press time, partial service had resumed for some platforms, but Coinbase and several streaming networks remain intermittently inaccessible while AWS engineers continue diagnostics.
