Her journey into coding began with Adobe Illustrator. As a young graphic designer, around the age of 11, she admired the software’s design and user experience. This piqued her curiosity about software development, setting her on the path to becoming a developer.

Life’s ambitions may change – from childhood dreams of becoming an astronaut to realistic goals such as launching FlexBeats. Yet, her primary desire remains consistent: creating products that simplify people’s lives. One of her recent inspirations is to develop an open-source time tracking tool, motivated by her dissatisfaction with existing applications.
Neema finds her inspirations in mundane moments – while doing dishes, showering, or experiencing a poorly designed product. And whenever inspiration strikes, she meticulously jots it down in her digital notebook, Notion.
Blockchain’s Role in Neema’s Career
It was the development of GetPaid, a product aimed at reducing transaction fees for freelancers, that introduced Neema to the wonders of blockchain. As a former freelancer herself, Neema resonated with the product’s intent to decrease the burden of high transaction fees on freelancers, especially when dealing with international clients.
One of the most significant issues she aims to address is the challenges Africans face when trying to establish online businesses.
