- Cardano CEO announces upcoming Node 8.0 update.
- Hoskinson discusses blockchain’s congestion control feature.
Charles Hoskinson, Cardano CEO, recently shared a video update discussing the progress of Cardano Improvement Proposals (CIP) – 1694. He revealed that the next node update for the blockchain platform would be Node 8.0, a continuation of the protocol version.
Hoskinson’s video, titled “Okonomiyaki,” refers to a Japanese dish meaning “a little bit of everything grilled.” He believes the term aptly represents discussing various topics simultaneously.

Efforts Behind Node 8.0 Implementation
In the video, Hoskinson highlights the Cardano team’s work over the past few months to successfully implement Node 8.0. However, several procedures remain to be completed for the project’s full accomplishment.
CIP, as described by the official Cardano blockchain page, is a formalized design for the Cardano community and the process by which such documents are produced and listed. It provides information or describes changes to the Cardano ecosystem, processes, or environment concisely and in sufficient technical detail.
A CIP provides information or describes a change to the Cardano ecosystem, processes, or environment concisely and in sufficient technical detail. In this CIP, we explain what a CIP is; how the CIP process functions; the role of the CIP Editors; and how users should go about proposing, discussing, and structuring a CIP.
Addressing Congestion Control Aside from discussing Node 8.0, Hoskinson touched on a variety of Cardano-related subjects, including congestion control. This crucial feature ensures the system remains robust while operating under high workloads. He referred to a 2021 Cardano blog post that delves into the congestion control feature in detail.
