Boosting Performance: TRON (TRX) Implements Bandwidth Modification to Optimize Transactions

  • TRON network proposes modifying the bandwidth model to decrease the volume of low-value transactions and address the rapid growth in transaction volume.
  • By reducing the daily free bandwidth from 1500 to 600, the network aims to discourage low-value transactions initiated by accounts using free bandwidth and enhance the overall ecosystem development.

As a blockchain expert, it is essential to address the TRON network’s recent proposal to modify the parameters related to the bandwidth model. The motivation behind this proposal is the significant growth in transaction volume, which has reached over 11 million daily transactions, approximately 11 times that of Ethereum.

The TRON network has identified a concerning trend of low-value or even fraudulent transactions within the network. These transactions not only consume network resources but also hinder the overall development of the ecosystem. To address this issue, a proposal has been put forth to decrease the volume of low-value transactions.

Proposed Measure:

The proposed measure involves modifying the daily free bandwidth allocated to each account. Specifically, the freenetlimit will be reduced from 1500 to 600, effectively reducing the daily free bandwidth for an account from 1500 to 600. By implementing this change, the TRON network aims to discourage the large number of low-value transactions initiated by accounts utilizing free bandwidth.

Initiating the Voting Request:

To initiate the voting request for this proposal, the daily free bandwidth needs to be modified to 600. The command “createProposal 61 600” will trigger the voting process.

Recent statistics reveal a sharp increase in the average daily transaction volume on the TRON network, surpassing 11 million transactions per day. Additionally, analysis indicates that approximately 75.34% of TRX transfer transactions and 44.86% of smart contract triggers are categorized as low-value transactions over the past three months.

Comparative data illustrates the relationship between free bandwidth and free transactions. Notably, after the daily free bandwidth is set to 600, users will still be able to send two free TRX/TRC10 transactions or one free TRC20 transaction.

In conclusion, the TRON network recognizes the need to address the issue of low-value transactions to enhance overall efficiency and development. The proposed modification to the bandwidth model aims to mitigate the impact of such transactions. Through this proposal, the TRON community seeks to maintain a healthy transaction environment and encourages other developers to contribute their ideas and efforts towards the continued progress of the ecosystem.
