Blockchain integrates telecommunications

Sprint Corporation has announced its partnership with multinational telecommunications company SoftBank Corp and blockchain company TBCASoft to jointly develop blockchain technology for telecommunication carriers. TBCASoft’s consortium-based blockchain platform enables mobile carriers to distribute cutting-edge services to their subscriber base, operating on a robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure.

Starting in June of 2017, the three companies will begin trials that connect TBCASoft’s blockchain platform to telecommunication carriers’ systems, collaborating on issues related to technology, business, and the regulations of various jurisdictions.

In addition, the companies will be promoting research and development to facilitate the building of a cross-carrier blockchain platform for services such as secured clearing and settlement, personal authentication, and IoT applications.
