Crypto community responses varied:

- Others suggested address exposure limits MicroStrategy’s selling options
- Critics condemned Arkham for violating corporate privacy, calling the disclosure unnecessary
MicroStrategy’s Custody Approach
The company began acquiring Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset in August 2020. Its strategy employs mixed custody methods – primarily using institutional custodians like Fidelity while maintaining segregated holdings through providers like Coinbase. This balances institutional integration with direct asset control.
Arkham now enables public tracking of these identified Strategy addresses through its platform. The firm noted service availability varies by jurisdiction, with perpetual contracts unavailable to U.S. users.
Strategy has not yet publicly responded to Arkham’s identification of its Bitcoin reserves. Digital transparency cuts both ways – revealing what was meant to stay obscured.
