Zcash Foundation Offers $80,000 Grant To Attract Innovative Talent

On August 17, 2017, the Zcash Foundation (Foundation) announced it will provide grants totaling $80,000 worth of Zcash (ZEC) pursuant of developers who can breathe fresh air into the platform with inventive new ideas.

As per the announcement, the Foundation will facilitate the grants through the Zcash Foundation Funding Program. President of Zcash Foundation Andrew Miller told ETHNews about the proposals that the program will target. "The program is scoped very broadly. We're pretty much looking for any proposals that support the Foundation's mission of community building, protocol stewardship, and education."

A call for proposals has been published on GitHub and, according to Miller, "There's some flexibility to change the amount based on the price of ZEC at the time the proposals are reviewed versus when that board decision was made."

The Grant Review Committee is said to include Alex Biryukov, Eran Tromer, Gibson Ashpool, Zaki Manian, and Ethereum researcher Vlad Zamfir.

Community members may submit ideas to the Foundation until the deadline on September 15 to vie for funds from Zcash's coffers. The Foundation said it would ramp up activities and outreach in the coming months and invites the community to stay tuned.
