According to market trends, the global eSports market is growing exponentially. However, there are very few existing platforms currently out there that provide a service that’s automated and trustworthy. Current eSports games run into problems because players are required to report the outcomes individually, after each game, which can lead to fraud or dishonesty. Players also have to trust that the eSports service will actually reward them after each reported outcome because they all require a central escrow. But building an eSports game off the Ethereum platform as a Dapp dispels all of these hurdles.
An entertaining new Dapp is about to arrive on the scene in the form of an eSports game called, FirstBlood. With this new Ethereum-geared eSports game, all game data is automatically verified and rewards are automatically sent. This creates a trustless system where users can play with confidence.
First Blood states:
“[We are] A platform that lets eSports players challenge each other in the field and win rewards. Made possible by smart contracts and oracles in the blockchain.”
So how does the game work?
- Step 1: Player selects the game they want to play and the stakes they want to play with.
- Step 2: The player may invite or wait for someone to join the game, or use a matchmaker to find an opponent.
- Step 3: The game finishes, Oracle fetches the result (first blood, turret, winner, etc.) and the smart contract processes the reward.
