Coinbase continues their effort to make Ether easier to acquire for the everyday user.

In a statement through their blog, Coinbase has officially added support for Ethereum.

We are pleased to announce that Coinbase is adding support for Ethereum. Consumers can now easily buy, sell, send, and store Ether in their Coinbase account.

Users from 32 different countries can start buying Ether through their desktop and mobile devices.

The announcement comes a day after the successful hard fork within the Ethereum blockchain.

Coinbase has expressed their support for the decentralized platform for several months. Both Brian Armstrong and Fred Ehrasm, co-founders of Coinbase, have written editorials about the future and benefits of Ethereum.

In May, Coinbase added the professional trading platform, GDAX (Global Digital Asset Exchange), to their exchange. GDAX was created for the professional traders and investors to purchase and trade ETH. Coinbase, their flagship exchange, is geared toward the general public and allows everyone to be able to utilize Bitcoin and Ether.

According to an official release, the average daily trading volume for ETH on GDAX has increased by 350% since the introduction of Ethereum.

Coinbase recently announced their Coinbase Buy Widget for the ‘trusted partner’ to embed onto their site. This widget will now include the new Ethereum support.
